Morrison keys Girard past Poland

GIRARD -- Chelsea Morrison had 20 points and seven kills Saturday as the Girard High volleyball team defeated Poland in five games.
Courtney Madden made 10 kills and four digs as the Indians won by scores of 19-25, 25-16, 25-6, 18-25 and 15-4.
Elise Roscoe made 10 kills for Girard.
For Poland (6-9), Ashley Conger made 11 kills and 14 assists, Doni Muransky made 11 kills and four blocks, and Lauren Kocher had seven points.
Villa Angela-St. Joseph 25-25-26,Girard 19-18-24
GIRARD -- Colleen Lynch had 40 assists and eight points and Margo Amigoni 13 kills to lead Villa Angela-St. Joseph (13-4).
For Girard (14-4), Madden had nine kills and nine digs, Roscoe made nine kills and five digs, Aysha Nickels made 35 assists and six points and Chelsea Morrison nine kills.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Nicole Himes scored 23 points and Kara Bentley had eight kills for the Tigers (6-7).

YOUNGSTOWN -- Coralesha Stewart led the Tigers with four kills and Kenysha Tennant added 15 points.
The Irish were paced by Jamie Williams with six kills and seven blocks.
Danielle Crafter had six kills for Ursuline.

LORDSTOWN -- Sophomore middle hitter Ashley Gibbs had 11 points, nine digs and one ace.
Senior outside hitter Ashley Kellar made three kills, junior setter Alisha Miller had nine assists, while sophomore middle hitter Megan Gibson had four blocks for Lordstown.

LORDSTOWN -- Gibson had 13 points, seven kills, two blocks and three aces; freshman back-court player Courtney Romghi had 10 points and one ace; sophomore outside hitter Amanda Wickline had five digs and Miller had nine assists for Lordstown (9-5).
For Niles, Rachel Mishko had three points; Karla Durig had five kills and three blocks; Laura Liberto had five digs and Christa Mickel had eight assists.
