Ghost Walk promises to revive spirits of city



This year there will be a total of seven ghostly but informative tales.
WARREN -- Ghosts of Trumbull County's past will return to historic downtown Warren this month.
Ghost Walk on Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22 is presented by the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, Packard Music Hall Foundation and the Trumbull County Historical Society.
The brave and curious are invited to walk and discover that the spirits of Warren never sleep.
Along the way ...
Tour groups leave from the First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave., every 10 minutes. They will then be guided to historic homes and mansions along Mahoning Avenue, as well as into the pioneer cemetery. Costumed actors and actresses will re-enact true stories about Trumbull County's past.
The walking tour is intended for people of all ages. It begins at 6:30 each evening, with the last group leaving at 9 p.m. Groups of 15 or more are encouraged to call in advance for group instruction.
The number of tickets available is limited and advance sales are encouraged. Presale tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children under 16.
Presale tickets are available at B & amp;E Farm Market, on Elm Road in Cortland; the Hippodrome on High Street in downtown Warren and at the R & amp;R Gourmet Village on Market Street in Howland.

This year there will be a total of seven stories including one new account about the Underground Railroad as it existed in Trumbull County.
Other stories include information about the first cemetery in Warren, lost love and buried treasure. Ghost Walk offers a unique opportunity for the young and old alike to learn about Trumbull County history.
Oct. 14 will be a special night for everyone with a library card. All library card holders can present their card at the on-site ticket window and purchase Ghost Walk tickets at the presale price.
Sign language
The Fine Arts Council will offer a tour to anyone needing an American Sign Language interpreter. The date for this tour can be flexible but it must leave from the church at 6:30 p.m. Advance reservations are required for the ASL Interpreter.
