XPOLAND -- Joshua Aikens, 337 Mathews Road, Boardman, and his bride, the former Kimberly Kerr, 3154 Howell Road, left on a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean following their wedding on Aug. 27 at Poland United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Joseph Santoman officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony, and a reception followed at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. The couple live at the groom's address.
The bride is a daughter of Bob and Sandy Kerr, also of 3154 Howell Drive, and the groom's parents are John and Diane Aikens, 424 Fisher Ave., East Liverpool, and Sheila and Chuck Welch, 1133 Hillcrest Drive, Wellsville.
Pearl beading enhanced the bodice and hemline of the bride's white strapless A-line gown.
Apple red gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Gretchen McGarry and Amy Barringer, and the bridesmaids, Victoria Aikens, the groom's sister; Tori Rumble; and Sue Pavalko. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Katie Holmes.
Sharing the duties of best man were Alex Bilchak and Shawn Wollam. Groomsmen were Jeff Jones, Robert Pavalko II, and the bride's brother, Bob Kerr. The bride's cousin, Kyle Holmes, was ring bearer.
A graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in education, the bride is a special-education teacher with Poland Local Schools.
The groom graduated from YSU with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is director of marketing with Home Builders Association of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown.
