YOUNGSTOWN CHURCH At ceremony, a blessing for the beasts

The Rev. Michael Cariglio, right, pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Youngstown, blesses Danny Boy, who is held by his owner, Todd Struble of Youngstown. The dog was blessed Saturday during the church's annual Blessing of the Pets ceremony. The Rev. Mr. Cariglio said about 50 pets were blessed at this year's event. The church has conducted the ceremony each year since 1986.
