Jennings center to host three fall programs

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Three autumn programs are planned at Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road. They are:
UDrink in the Wild Teas of Pennsylvania. The program, scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 16, will feature a short guided hike into the woods to learn about commonly found plants to consider when collecting for tea. Participants will identify plants, including mints, spicebush and sassafras. Recipes will be shared and there will be free samples.
UBlack Cats and Witches Hats. Explore the October woods after sundown at 7 p.m. Oct. 30. While people are usually going to sleep, nocturnal creatures are on the prowl. The night hike will focus on myths and reality of these nocturnal animals.
UAsk Trapper John. Trapper John Columbo will speak at 2 p.m. Nov. 13. Want to prevent wild animals from raiding your garden? Need a good wild game recipe? Trapper John, the author of "The Best of Trapper John," may have the answer for you.
