Federation plans benefit style show



Proceeds will provide scholarships for non-traditional female students.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Area Federation of Women's Clubs, which is celebrating it's 100th anniversary, will hold an annual fund-raiser Oct. 19 at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave., Boardman.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a luncheon followed by a style show of the newest fashions for the coming season.
The theme for the event will be "See You at the Movies II," based on the film "To Have and Have Not," which starred Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.
After the luncheon, Patty Higgins will serve as narrator for the fashion show.
Music for the occasion will be presented by Ellen Wakeford Banks and Kris Harper, and there will be a raffle and an array of door prizes.
Proceeds from the luncheon and show will help provide scholarships for non-traditional female students.

Barbara Higgins is serving as chairwoman, and Lee Bowden is co-chairwoman for the event. They are being assisted by the following committee members: Jeanne Beckman, Dorothy Schwers, Elva Easton, Dottie Thomas, Valorie Zurawick and Marilyn Roumfort.
