Dutton, Girard trip Falls 39-19
Liberty remained unbeaten with a shutout of LaBrae.
NEWTON FALLS -- The Girard High football team fell behind 13-0, then Brett Dutton scored five touchdowns to lead the Indians to a 39-19 victory over Newton Falls Friday in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Dutton, who rushed for 111 yards on 25 carries, scored on runs of 5, 6, 5, 4 and 5 yards. Dutton also threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Mark Fiest.
Tim Dorrian was the leading rusher for the Indians (3-3, 2-1) as he gained 119 yards on 18 attempts, which included a scoring run of 3 yards.
The Indians rushed for 235 yards on 45 carries and they were 8-of-13 for 162 passing.
George Davis of Newton Falls (1-5, 1-2) rushed for 97 yards on 14 carries, which included touchdown runs 5 and 53 yards and he kicked for an extra point.

LEAVITTSBURG -- Liberty, ranked fourth in Division II, region 9 of the computer poll, scored points in every quarter to remain unbeaten (6-0, 3-0).
Donovan Fletcher caught 6 and 73 yard touchdown passes from quarterback David Farrell and Robert Hightower scored twice on 9-yard runs to trigger the Leopards attack.
Hightower finished with 72 yards on 10 rushes and Farrell completed 4-of-6 passes for 106 yards.
The Vikings rushed for 181 yards on 40 attempts and they were 8-of-18 for 109.
Brookfield 19,Champion 14
CHAMPION -- Dave Nehlen and Pete Hunkus hooked up for a pair of 30-yard scoring passes to lead the Warriors.
Nehlen completed 6-of-8 passes for 66 yards and Hunkus had five of the receptions for 61 yards.
Brad Harnett, who scored Brookfield's (3-3, 2-1 TAC) first touchdown on a 2-yard run, rushed 16 times for 108 yards.
Chad Kinkead had 114 total yards for Champion (1-5, 0-3). He rushed 17 times for 29 yards and completed 10-of-19 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown to Kris Wildman. T.J. Cage caught three passes for 35 yards and Matt Popadak rushed eight times for 31 yards.
Popadak scored Champion's first touchdown on a 25-yard interception return.
