BOARDMAN Home burglaries, thefts from cars are investigated
The cars and most of the structures were unlocked.
BOARDMAN -- Police are investigating residential burglaries and thefts from vehicles that occurred over the past few days in the township's northwest area.
The cars and garages where the crimes were reported were unlocked. One of the houses was unlocked, but someone cut a screen and broke a window to get into a second home.
A resident of Traymore Court told police that someone entered his attached garage through an unlocked door and took cash from one car and cigarettes from another.
Someone also went through items in an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a Baymar Drive house but didn't take anything.

Another resident of Baymar told police Thursday morning that someone entered her garage through an unlocked door and then her house the same way. She said a wallet containing cash and credit cards was taken.
The owner of a house on Oak Knoll Drive that's vacant and for sale told police that someone broke in between Tuesday and Wednesday. Nothing was reported missing, but a window screen was cut and the window in a door was broken.
A resident of Bob-O-Link Drive told police that between Wednesday and Thursday, someone took a radar detector and two compact discs from his unlocked car.
Another Baymar resident reported a radar detector taken from his unlocked car parked in a carport.
Police also got a call of a suspicious man wearing black, walking through the back yards of Baymar with a flashlight. Officers searched the area but didn't find the man.
