XHoly Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be selling potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.
XHoly Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will be serving its original fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; and bread and butter, coffee or tea. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
XHoly Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi and hot pirogi lunches and homemade plain, cinnamon and powdered sugar cake doughnuts. Orders will be taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday. The cost of pirogi is $4 per dozen.
XNational Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. Cost is $9 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. The menu will feature baked or fried fish, a cook's choice fish or 21-piece shrimp, and a choice of hot foods and salad. Dessert also is included along with coffee, tea or punch. XPotato pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order call (330) 799-0084 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $4 per dozen. Patrons may provide their own containers and are asked to use the side entrance.
XSt. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.
XPotato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-ins.
XSt. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
XSt. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 1 Friday, based upon availability. The cost is $4 a dozen for potato and kraut and for cottage cheese. Lunches are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.
XTod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. N.W., Warren, will hold an all-you-can-eat fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meals include home fries, coleslaw, bread, beverages and homemade desserts. Meatloaf also will be available. Meals are $7 for adults and $2.50 for children. Takeouts will be available from 3:30 to 6:30. Residents of the two high-rise buildings on Tod and Buckeye avenues may place advance orders by calling (330) 393-3859 by 3:30 p.m., and meals will be delivered. Members of the United Methodist Women will hold a craft sale in the church parlor during the dinner.
SATURDAY
XThe Deaconate of Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, will hold a holiday cookie sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Homemade pecan tassies, thumbprints, almond stars, Santa whiskers, cherry chocolate kisses, Swedish teacakes, cinnamon candy canes, lemonade cookies, sugar cookies and gingerbread men will be available. Cookies are $4 per dozen, and buckeyes will be available for $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 372-1676 for a tray of six dozen assorted cookies at $25; peanut brittle, $4 a pound; or a baker's dozen of buckeyes for $5.
XNehemiah Builders, a fellowship of local ecumenical churches, will hold a Christmas Cookie Walk from 9 to 11 a.m. at Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, Poland. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County.
XA Swiss steak dinner will be served from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road. The menu will include mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, homemade dessert and beverage. Takeout orders will be available. XSt. Rose Church Catholic Women's Club will be selling homemade fantasy fudge in the lower church after all Masses on Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 3 and 4, Dec. 10 and 11, and Dec. 17 and 18. The plain fudge is $4 and the fudge with nuts is $4.50.

XSt. Matthias Church will hold a stuffed cabbage dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Father Snock Center at St. Matthias School, 2800 Shady Run Road. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 11. The dinner will include mashed potatoes, corn, bread and butter, cake, and coffee or tea. Pop will be available for 50 cents per can. XSt. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill, Youngstown will hold its monthly spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the church social hall. Dinner will include salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 8 and under. Containers will be provided for carryouts. The dinner will be for the benefit of First Night Youngstown, with First Night volunteers hosting a Chinese Auction, having an information table and selling buttons for the popular New Year's Eve event.
