Businesses report receiving counterfeit bills

AUSTINTOWN -- Counterfeit 20-dollar bills have appeared at three Mahoning Avenue businesses in recent days, according to police reports.
An employee of the BP gas station at 5502 Mahoning Ave. discovered a fake bill when she was putting cash in the safe Saturday and noticed one 20-dollar bill didn't feel right.
On Friday, the owner of Belleria Pizza, 5625 Mahoning Ave., told police that sometime during the day the business got a bad bill.
And the Get Go at 5163 Mahoning Ave. reported an employee there accepted two fake bills Nov. 21.
A woman also tried to spend a fake 100-dollar bill at Wal-Mart on Nov. 21, police said. The woman said she had given a man change for the bill earlier at a Dairy Mart in Youngstown.
