Public invited to attend gardening seminar



MERCER, Pa. -- The public is welcome when the Mercer County Master Gardeners presents a seminar called "Come Grow With Us" from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Mercer County 4-H Park.
The featured speaker is Arthur Joura, bonsai curator from the North Carolina Arboretum. His topic will be "Bonsai Using Native Plants."
Len Lehman of the Daylily Society will speak on "Daylily Breeding and Improvement," and Mike Corle of the Iris Society will discuss "Japanese and Siberian Irises."
Cost is $35 and includes seminar materials, a light breakfast and lunch. T-shirts are available at an additional fee.
The park is one mile north of Mercer on Pa. Route 19.
Reservations must be made by Dec. 31 by calling (724) 662-4131. Only 100 reservations are available, said Deborah Plant of the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce.
