Magazine honors 5 professors at Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN -- Ohio Magazine has selected five professors from Youngstown State University to be recognized in the 2005 Excellence in Education edition in December.
The professors are: Maria E. Delost of Struthers in health professions, Jacek Fabrykowski of Solon in mathematics and statistics, William Rick Fry of Youngstown in psychology, Randy L. Hoover of Youngstown in education and Victor F. Wan-Tatah of Youngstown in philosophy and religious studies.
They were nominated for the recognition by YSU Provost Robert K. Herbert.
"Ohio Magazine is pleased to celebrate education and to honor YSU's professors and instructors for their achievements and contributions," said Lute Harmon Jr., publisher.
The professors were chosen by a panel of editors based on achievements in and out of the classroom. Ohio Magazine is read by more than 225,000 people.
"These YSU faculty members represent the best of the best classroom teachers in the state, and in the nation for that matter," Herbert said.
"Their dedication to teaching, to the university and most especially to their students is commendable and well worth this recognition," he said.
Earlier this year, the five professors also received 2005 teaching awards from the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education.
