FUNERAL Hundreds pay respects to 4 children

The school principal, who read letters from other children, told about each one.
HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) -- Family and friends wore T-shirts that commemorated their loss. The shirts said: "In Loving Memory of Four Angels."
"We have come together to wrap our arms around this family today," said Susan Schnell, principal of the Harrison Elementary School that hosted the visitation and funeral services Friday for four children killed in an apartment fire. All four siblings were pupils there.
Hundreds of people, including classmates and strangers from this southwest Ohio community who wanted to pay their respects, packed the school gymnasium where four small caskets held the bodies of Donrico Moss, 6; Marlasha Reed, 8; Marquinda Reed, 9, and Marquis Reed, 9.

Schnell told a little about each child, with the help of letters written by their classmates.
"They were funny, and they were sad," the principal said of the letters, "but the children have better wisdom than we do, and they spoke through their hearts."
She recalled Donrico as a lively child who would "do his little shake dance." Classmates of Marquis said some called him "Dictionary" or "Computer" because he knew so many words.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the early morning Nov. 18 fire that broke out at the Neilan Park Apartments. They have said they believe it was accidental.
At least seven people were inside the apartment. A man escaped with two other children, but intense heat, fire and smoke prevented more rescues. The children's mother was away at the time.
"When the wind blows, we will see their laughter," Schnell said. "When the sun shines, we will see their smiles."
