Burglary victim loses firearms, coins

YOUNGSTOWN -- Several firearms, including a flintlock muzzle loader, were stolen from a Halls Heights home and its unattached garage during the past week.
The owner, James English, 50, said the break-in occurred between Nov. 12, when he went out of town, and 12:14 a.m. Thursday, when he returned.
Besides the muzzle loader, other things stolen were a .22-caliber rifle; a 16-gauge shotgun; two 12-gauge shotguns; a scope for a crossbow; a silver dollar coin collection and silver dollar certificates; tools; a Christmas village display; and a man's wedding ring.
English is taking inventory to determine if other items are missing. The value of the stolen merchandise was not reported.
Police said a screen was cut and a window broken at the house. On the garage, a latch was cut.
