Forms are available for heat assistance

HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program are available at the Mercer County Assistance Office.
LIHEAP is a federal program that assists low-income people who cannot pay their heating bills.
Eligible households can get assistance from direct payments to energy vendors or through a crisis component for weather-related emergencies such as a broken furnace, leaking pipes or terminated utility service.
Homeowners, renters, roomers and subsidized housing tenants may be eligible. Any type fuel may be used. Eligibility is based on income.
