Libraries to add books on outdoors

The books will help educate the public about the great outdoors.
WARREN -- Warren-Trumbull County Public Library plans to add to its collection of books on the outdoors.
A donation is making the addition possible.
We are very grateful to these community-minded organizations for adding to our outdoor information available to the public," said Robert D. Briell, library director.
The Trumbull County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs and Whitetails Unlimited Trumbull County Chapter have together donated $500 to library for the purchase of books on the outdoors.
The donation will be used to purchase a number of titles for children, teens and adults.
"It's gratifying for our groups to give something back to the community," said federation spokesman Jerry Usselman. "We hope that these public library materials will be useful to a wide range of ages and interests."
Dennis Malloy, regional director for Whitetails, added, "We are glad to be involved in activities such as this that will raise the awareness of outdoor activities in local young people."
One example of a book that will be bought with this donation is "Little Tom Turkey" by Frances Bloxam.
"It's is aimed at grade-schoolers, and is a factual book about the wild turkey, which is plentiful in northeast Ohio. Children often must research reports on backyard animals in Ohio, so this will be a very welcome addition to the collection," Briell added.
"We expect to add nearly 30 titles to the Main Library and Branch Services collections with this donation."
