Lara Flynn Boyle fliesout of 'Las Vegas'
NEW YORK -- A strong breeze sent Lara Flynn Boyle's character flying off the roof of The Montecito Resort & amp; Casino -- and out of NBC's "Las Vegas."
Boyle is famously known for her slender figure. Her character, Monica Mancuso, was wearing an outfit with winglike sleeves when a wind current sent her soaring over the Las Vegas strip. The episode aired Monday night.
"Lara was a great sport," TV Guide quoted executive producer Gary Scott Thompson as saying. "When we shot her flying off, we were all in hysterics -- including her."
Thompson said the decision to kill off Monica, the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito, wasn't a reflection on Boyle "as an actress or as a person" but simply "about doing something outrageous and unexpected."
"If she came in and our ratings went through the roof, that would have been a different story," Thompson said. "But they were the same as they always were."
Photos from Diana'slast shoot go on display
LONDON -- Photographs from Princess Diana's last fashion shoot will go on display this week at Kensington Palace, her old home.
Mario Testino took the set of 15 photos for Vanity Fair magazine in 1997, five months before Diana died in a car crash in Paris.
In the photos, seven of which have never been published or exhibited, Diana wears dresses she planned to auction for charity later that year.
Several of the intimate photos show Diana smiling with her hands on her hips. Others have her reclining in strapless evening gowns.
The informal photos show a happy, relaxed Diana, said Beatrice Behlen, a curator of the Kensington Palace dress collection.
"They remind me of when you want to go to a party and you're trying on different outfits, and someone is taking a few snaps -- a few really good snaps," she said. "They don't look like a photo shoot."
Nine of Diana's dresses, including the four she wore in Testino's photographs, are also being displayed.
The exhibition opens today and continues until July 1, 2007.
Salma Hayek to hostNobel Peace Prize Concert
OSLO, Norway -- Salma Hayek will host this year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert in honor of laureate Mohamed ElBaradei.
ElBaradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency he leads shared the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize for their drive to curb the spread of atomic weapons by using diplomacy to resolve standoffs with Iran and North Korea over their nuclear programs.
The Dec. 11 concert, held a day after the award ceremony in Oslo, will include Gladys Knight, Duran Duran and Sugababes, organizers said Tuesday.
"It is fun to have such a big celebrity and wonderful actress as host," concert producer Odd Arvid Stroemstad said of Hayek, an Oscar nominee for her role in 2002's "Frida." "She is also very concerned about other things than just playing films."
Entertainers booked for this year's concert also include Westlife, Yo-Yo Ma, Juanes and Katherine Jenkins.
