A summary of recent police activity in Liberty Township:
Nov. 15
Bad check: An employee at Liberty Mini Mart, 3007 Belmont Ave., reported receiving a $282 forged check.
Assault: A Youngstown girl, 16, and her mother told police a woman, 18, got out of her car at Wendy's, 4001 Belmont Ave., and struck the girl in the face.
Arrest: Police took custody of a 50-year-old Youngstown woman at the Mahoning County jail who was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court on a theft count.
Theft: A worker at Taco Bell, 3551 Belmont Ave., noticed two money bags containing about $373 missing.
Arrest: While detaining the driver of a vehicle for having no front license plate, police arrested the Youngstown man, 32, at a BP station, 2703 Belmont Ave. He was charged with receiving stolen property (license plates), a felony, driving under suspension and having a fictitious license plate.
Nov. 16
Bad check: A worker at Penguin Check Cashing, 3233 Belmont Ave., told police a Farrell, Pa., man tried to cash a $759.59 check determined to be counterfeit.
Theft: Police caught up to and arrested a 21-year-old Youngstown woman on Fifth Avenue. She faced a theft charge after being accused of taking skin cream and two bottles of perfume from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.
Recovered property: An employee at Goodwill Industries, 2707 Belmont Ave., called police after finding ammunition in some donated items.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 26-year-old man at his Logan Gate Road home and charged him with domestic violence. Police also discovered he was wanted on a warrant charging him with the same crime. A woman suffered a bloody nose after alleging he shoved her and struck her in the face during an argument.
Breaking and entering: Police found a front-door glass window at Rent-a-Center, 3620 Belmont Ave., had been broken with a rock, and that a 20-inch TV and a DVD player were stolen. The loss was estimated at $437.
Theft: After responding to suspicious activity near Church Hill Motors, 1430 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, police apprehended a 22-year-old Hubbard man and charged him with theft. Numerous socket pieces and other tools were missing.
Nov. 17
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman in the 3700 block of Logan Way said a Youngstown man, 26, borrowed her car and failed to bring it back.
Recovered property: After seeing a car pull into Rite Aid Pharmacy and determining it was stolen, police cited a 20-year-old Youngstown man on a charge of driving under suspension. He was not charged with the theft of the vehicle.
Vandalism/trespassing: After responding to a report of a disruptive guest at Quality Inn & amp; Suites, 4055 Belmont Ave., police arrested a Youngstown woman, 28, on charges of vandalism and criminal trespass. She was accused of throwing items from a room into the hallway and refusing to leave.
Nov. 18
Recovered property: Police discovered a stolen 1990 Oldsmobile 98 belonging to an Austintown man in the Tallyho-tel parking lot, 4249 Belmont Ave.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road told police an acquaintance knocked on her door and later, when she came out of a room, she discovered her car and keys missing.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A man in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street said he loaned his car to a Youngstown woman, 36, who failed to return it.
Arrest: An 18-year-old Hubbard man wanted on a warrant charging him with theft surrendered to police. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
Theft: A man discovered the front license plate missing from his vehicle at his residence in the 30 block of Louise Lane.
Nov. 20
Recovered property: A registration check conducted on a 1997 Dodge Caravan at the Tallyho-tel revealed the car had been stolen in Youngstown.
Nov. 21
Domestic violence: After responding to a call at a residence in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road, officers arrested an 18-year-old man nearby and charged him with domestic violence. The suspect's sister alleged he tossed a dart at her, and he also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say he had a set of brass knuckles and a suspected marijuana pipe.
Breaking and entering: An employee at AT Systems, 9861/2 Tibbets-Wick Road, found out someone tried to break in through a wall. Three holes in a concrete block were discovered.
Arrest: Police took custody of a Youngstown man, 49, near Gypsy Lane and Belmont Avenue. He was wanted on a charge of failure to appear on two theft counts.
Nov. 22
Attempted breaking and entering: Police responded to an alarm in the 10 block of Belgrade Avenue and found a broken window.
