NOTEBOOK | From Browns Stadium

Agony of defeat: Browns wideout Braylon Edwards, a University of Michigan graduate, was treated to "Hang on Sloopy" during a commercial break late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. He also got to hear the O-H-I-O chant after the Browns PR department flashed Saturday's Ohio State-Michigan score. "It's Ohio; it's something you expect," Edwards said. "If we were in Michigan, you'd hear the UM chant." Edwards lost a friendly wager on the game and will have to buy an OSU hat and jersey and wear it for a week. "I'll probably buy a Troy Smith jersey since he played the best," Edwards said.
Crazy, but true department: Trent Dilfer improved to 4-6 as a starter in Cleveland (.400 winning percentage) to become the winningest quarterback in new Browns history. Tim Couch (22-37, .373) is second, followed by Kelly Holcomb (4-9, .308) and Jeff Garcia (3-7, .300). Doug Pederson went 1-7, while Luke McCown, Ty Detmer and Spergon Wynn were a combined 0-7.
No TV: The Valley's CBS affiliate, WKBN-27, televised Sunday's Steelers-Ravens game instead of the Browns-Dolphins game, citing an NFL rule that requires the station in a secondary market to favor the road team. Both Cleveland and Pittsburgh claim Youngstown as a secondary market. There is one more conflict this season. On Dec. 4, the Browns host Jacksonville and the Steelers host Cincinnati. Because both teams are at home, WKBN is expected to televise the Browns game.
Rare victory: The Browns snapped a six-game losing streak to the Dolphins. Cleveland's last win came in 1986 when Boardman High graduate Bernie Kosar passed for 401 yards in a 26-16 win at Cleveland Municipal Stadium.
Rare shutout: The Browns' last shutout came in an 18-0 win over the Bengals on Nov. 21, 2001. Miami was shut out last December in a 12-0 loss to the Patriots. "Everybody was itching for it," Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden said. "Everybody was talking about it on the sideline." Miami had several chances to score in the fourth quarter, running 25 plays in Cleveland territory over the last 15 minutes. "We showed a lot of heart out there," said linebacker Matt Stewart. "You saw how many times they were in the red zone. It was just heart."
