Annual ball will present debutantes

Past "Miss Cinderellas" are asked to attend the golden anniversary event.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Junior Civic League will hold its 50th annual Cinderella Ball from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave. Ext., Boardman.
A highlight of the occasion will be the presentation of 16 debutantes from area high schools and their escorts.
The theme of the ball is "Fifty Years of Elegance: A Timeless Tradition," which is designed to evoke many heart-warming memories.
During the past 50 years, the league has presented more than 400 debutantes, crowned 50 young women as "Miss Cinderella" and groomed 400 young men as pages and escorts.
The league is asking those who were crowned as "Miss Cinderella" from 1955 to the present to attend this event.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from any league member or any 2005 debutante. Proceeds will help provide scholarships for area students.
