This and that from the world of Valley politics.
ON THE ATTACK: There is no doubt that state Sen. Marc Dann of Liberty, D-32nd, gets under the skin of Ohio Republican Party Chairman Robert Bennett. Dann, a pitbull when it comes to attacking Republicans on the state Bureau of Workers' Compensation investment scandal or other controversial issues, announced this week he's running for state attorney general in 2006.
Bennett released a statement earlier this year taking a shot at Dann for playing politics and grandstanding rather than rolling up his sleeves and working to resolve corruption in Columbus. Bennett also mentioned in the statement that Dann was reprimanded by the state Supreme Court.
He used Dann's AG announcement this week as another opportunity to criticize the Democrat. Bennett called Dann "one of the biggest hypocrites in state government."
