Parole hearing set for convicted killer
WARREN -- A parole hearing will be in early December for a Warren man convicted of killing two men during a robbery at Austin Beverage Center on West Market Street on Dec. 29, 1975.
Pompie Wade was convicted in the deaths of Dominic Chiarella, 51, and Fred Piersol, 23.
Wade will have a parole hearing either Dec. 5 or 6 at Marion Correctional Institution, a parole board spokeswoman said.
Wade was 22 at the time of the crimes.
Wade was sentenced to death after being convicted of aggravated murder, attempted murder and aggravated robbery, but his death penalty was canceled in 1978. At that time, Ohio had placed a moratorium on the death penalty.
