Teenager reports carjacking to police

AUSTINTOWN -- A 17-year-old boy was the victim of a carjacking while pumping gas at the BP station at Mahoning Avenue and Meridian Road, police report.
The boy said the carjacking occurred Sunday, but it was not reported to police until Monday.
The boy said he was pumping gas, and two friends who were with him were inside the store at the gas station.
A strange man walked up and asked for a ride. The boy said no, and the man jumped into his car anyway. The man pulled a gun, and told the boy to drive, according to the report.
The boy said he drove the man around Youngstown for about 30 minutes, while the man smoked what appeared to be crack cocaine. He ordered the boy to return to the BP station, where the boy's friends were waiting.
But once they got back to the BP, the carjacker told the boy to drive again, because he wanted to go to Subway, according to the report. The boy finally stopped at a business on Mahoning Avenue and told the carjacker to get out, which he did, according to the report.
