Route 422 bridge work affects other streets

YOUNGSTOWN -- An Ohio Department of Transportation project to rehabilitate six bridges on or over U.S. Route 422 in the city continues.
Traffic on Fifth Avenue over Route 422 is reduced to one lane in each direction until next summer. Ford Avenue over Route 422 is closed until late fall 2006.
The northbound detour is Grant Street to Belmont Avenue to Caroline Street. The southbound detour is Caroline Street to Belmont Avenue to Madison Avenue.
Other streets to be affected include Covington Street, Belmont Avenue, Wick Avenue and Elm Street.
The entire $7.5 million project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2007. ODOT officials said, however, the completion date could be delayed by poor weather.
