NEW YORK -- LIFEbeat -- the Music Industry Fights AIDS will honor World AIDS Day on Dec. 1 with an Internet auction featuring some 1,000 items from stars in music, film, theater and television.
The "Bid 2 Beat AIDS" auction on eBay will include a signed bottle of officially licensed, limited-edition Lindsay Lohan Heinz ketchup, a diamond watch donated by Lil' Kim and a signed jogging suit worn by Jennifer Lopez, it was announced this week.
Other items include a 2006 Vespa LX-50 signed by Kanye West and other stars; the podium from the 2005 MTV Movie Awards signed by Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman; and signed guitars from Tim McGraw, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wynonna Judd.
The 10-day auction will benefit LIFEbeat, an organization that provides HIV/AIDS information to young people.
Also up for bid will be hundreds of CDs, posters, DVDs, photos, toys and magazines signed by stars such as Mariah Carey, Eminem, Usher, Britney Spears, Jamie Foxx, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Diddy, Beyonc & eacute;, Orlando Bloom and Melissa Etheridge.
Fez's fantasy takes Hayesback to '70s on Fox show
NEW YORK -- Isaac Hayes will go back to the '70s when he guest-stars on "That '70s Show."
Hayes will begin shooting next week on an episode that is scheduled for next spring, the Fox network announced this week.
"That '70s Show" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
Hayes will appear in an episode in which Fez, played by Wilmer Valderrama, tries to create a hipper persona for himself at the beauty salon where he works.
While at the salon, Fez has a fantasy in which Hayes shows up and performs a hilarious musical number, the network said.
Hayes, who had a memorable 1969-75 run at Stax Records, has a new two-CD collection, "Ultimate Isaac Hayes -- Can You Dig It?" The album includes "Theme From Shaft" and "His Eye Is on the Sparrow."
He is the voice of Chef on Comedy Central's "South Park."
NBC special to featureElton John's Vegas show
NEW YORK -- Elton John brings his Las Vegas show to television with his first NBC special, "Elton John: The Red Piano," on Dec. 14.
The special will feature John's show from Caesars Palace, incorporating his performance with videos from director David LaChapelle, including two that feature Justin Timberlake as a young Elton John and Pamela Anderson performing a pole dance, NBC announced Monday.
Last December, the rock legend was honored in a star-studded tribute at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Notable death
Vine Deloria Jr., a groundbreaking author and an influential advocate of American Indian rights, has died, family members said. He was 72. Deloria, a Sioux Indian, died Sunday of complications from an aortic aneurysm, said his son, Phil Deloria. His best-known book, "Custer Died for Your Sins: An Indian Manifesto," attacked the American Indians' treatment by settlers and the government.
