Tod Children's Hospital to light holiday tree Friday

YOUNGSTOWN -- The traditional Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital holiday tree lighting is set for at 6 p.m. Friday.
Area school children will sing as part of the 26th annual event.
"It's become an honored Valley tradition. It means so much to the patients, staff and everyone who takes part in it. It's just such an uplifting event," said DeAnne Bunevich of the Child Life and Education Department at Tod Children's.
Members of Tod Children's Light-Up-A-Life fund-raising committee and the Forum Health maintenance crew decorate the holiday tree with lights and ornaments. The tree is located in front of the main entrance to the facility.
The event is open to the public, and local school choirs and groups are encouraged to take part. To register a school choir for participation in the tree-lighting, contact Bunevich at (330) 884-3604.
The tree lighting coincides with the annual Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital "Light Up A Life" fund-raising event, which is under way. Sponsors are welcome to make donations any time, particularly between now and the end of the holiday season.
