Pickup crashes into house; 1 dies
MELMORE, Ohio (AP) -- A pickup truck crashed through a house where six people were sleeping early Sunday, killing a young girl and critically injuring a man, authorities said.
Max Didion's southbound pickup went off the right side of state Route 67 about 3:45 a.m. and drove completely through the house near this town about 50 miles southeast of Toledo, according to the State Highway Patrol's Fremont post.
Didion, 21, of Bellevue, lost control at a curve in the road, the patrol said. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor.
Rochelle Dibble died Sunday afternoon at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, the patrol said.
The patrol said the girl was about 8 years old.
The coroner in Seneca County was not available for comment Sunday night, an operator with his answering service said.
Richard Dibble was in critical condition at the hospital, said a spokeswoman who declined to provide details of his injuries.
No information on the other four people inside the house was immediately available.
Didion was being held in Seneca County Jail. The county prosecutor was expected to consider charges today, the patrol said.
