Kentucky cruises past S. Dakota State
In women's action, No. 3 LSU beat No. 13 Texas Tech in the Tip-Off Classic.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Sophomore point guard Rajon Rondo had 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds to lead No. 9 Kentucky past South Dakota State 71-54 Sunday in the first round of the Guardians Classic.
Rekalin Sims added 11 points for the Wildcats (1-0), who missed their first eight shots, including air balls by Rondo and Joe Crawford. But South Dakota State (0-1), given an opportunity to open a lead, committed four turnovers and went 1-of-4 from the field during that early stretch. By the 11:54 mark, the Jackrabbits had missed 16 of 17 shots and trailed 14-2.
Kentucky led 37-24 at halftime and its largest lead was 51-30 with 16:02 left.
Junior forward Ben Beran led the Jackrabbits with 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting.
Women
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Seimone Augustus had 32 points and 13 rebounds to lead No. 3 LSU to a 76-68 victory over No. 13 Texas Tech in the Tip-Off Classic.
Augustus scored nine of LSU's final 14 points after Tech had tied the score at 62 with about 3 minutes remaining.
Augustus, who was 12-of-25 from the field, had 10 defensive rebounds and the Lady Tigers (1-0) finished with a 51-37 rebound advantage overall.
Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, while Hoston added 10 points.
LaToya Davis scored 21 points for Texas Tech (0-1) and Alesha Robertson added 17, LaVonda Henderson 11 and Erin Grant 10.
No. 6 Baylor 84, No. 8 Georgia 72
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Sophia Young scored 30 points and helped the Lady Bears rally from an 18-point second-half deficit at the Tip-Off Classic.
Baylor, the defending NCAA champions, extended its winning streak to 21 games.
With Georgia's Tasha Humphrey in foul trouble, the Lady Bears (1-0) whittled the Bulldogs' 59-41 lead and went ahead 67-65 with eight minutes left. Humphrey went to the bench with four fouls with 15:23 left.
Baylor's Angela Tisdale added 19 points.
Cori Chambers led Georgia (0-1) with 17 points.
No. 25 Oklahoma 80, SMU 43
NORMAN, Okla. -- Courtney Paris had 19 points and 20 rebounds to lead Oklahoma in the second round of the Preseason Women's NIT.
Kendra Moore added a career-high 12 points for the Sooners (2-0).
