Ranger finds man dead inside burning car

LISBON -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a Warren man found inside a burning vehicle in a parking lot at Guilford Lake State Park.
An Ohio Department of Natural Resources ranger assigned to the park found David R. Krebs, 42, of 867 Adams St. N.W., at 12:53 a.m. Saturday while responding to a call about a burning vehicle, police said.
The ranger told police that the vehicle was smoldering and that there was one person inside with burns of the face and hands. The person was later identified as Krebs, police said.
The cause of death hasn't been determined. Police said an autopsy will be performed by the Cuyahoga County coroner's office. The Warren District Office of Investigations of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation and learned that Krebs' wife had filed a missing person report with the Warren City Police Department at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
