XKAUAI, Hawaii -- The Beach House Restaurant provided the setting Oct. 8 for the wedding of Christie Ryder and Joseph A. Ascione, both of 1080 N. Paulina, Chicago.
The couple exchanged nuptial vows during a 4:15 p.m. ceremony. The Rev. Harold Kaleihi Kilborn officiated, and a reception was held immediately afterward at the restaurant.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii before returning to their home in Chicago.
Parents of the bride are Paul and Chris Ryder, 3643 Pin Oaks, Sarasota, Fla., and the groom's parents are Joseph and Jackie Ascione, 136 Chester Drive, Boardman.
The bodice of the bride's sleeveless silk organza gown was embellished with crystals and it featured a V-neckline and a chapel train. She wore white orchids in her hair and carried a bouquet of tropical flowers.
Attendants at the wedding were the bride's niece, Peyton Ryder of Chicago, as the flower girl, and her nephew, Jake Ryder of Chicago, as ring bearer.
The bride graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., with a degree in communication. She is a real estate broker with Koenig and Strey Real Estate in Chicago.
The groom, a chiropractic physician, graduated from Ohio University in Athens with a bachelor's degree and earned his doctorate in chiropractic at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Ill. He is also a firefighter-paramedic with the city of Park Ridge, Ill.
