XROCKY RIVER -- Athena N. Nastoff of Bay Village and Ryan M. Church of Washington, D.C., were married Oct. 8 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church during a 2:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Rev. Paul Patitsos.
After a reception at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, the couple left for a honeymoon in Fiji.
Parents of the bride are Penny Stratos and Al Donofrio, both of Boardman, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gary Church of Santa Barbara, Calif.
The bride wore a strapless princess-style gown of ivory satin embellished with embroidery and sequins, and she completed her ensemble with a rhinestone-enhanced cathedral veil.
DeAnna Mordocco of Poland, the honor attendant, wore a champagne-colored gown, as did the bridesmaids, Lisa Dinger of Poland and the groom's sisters-in-law, Christine Church and Courtney Church, both of Lompoc, Calif. Flower girls were his nieces, Sydni and Nicole Church of Lompoc. Koumbara was the bride's godmother, Stacy Mrazik of Monroeville, Pa.
Aaron Mendoza of Lompoc performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Andrew and Mathew Church, the groom's brothers, both of Lompoc, and Garret D'Antoni of Reno.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with bachelor degrees in psychology and biology. She is a sales representative with Solvay Pharmaceuticals in Cleveland.
The groom is a professional baseball player with the Washington Nationals.
They live in Cleveland.
