2 firefighters injured while fighting blaze
WARREN --Two firefighters were injured fighting a blaze in a vacant house at 1114 Garden St., N.W. Firefighters said the blaze was discovered around 4:24 a.m. Saturday and damaged the first and second floors of the two-story frame structure.
Lt. Larry Montecalvo suffered a neck sprain and was treated at the scene. Lt. Bob McPhail suffered a cut of the chin that took 14 stitches to close, firefighters said. He was treated at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The owner of the house was undetermined Saturday, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, firefighters said.
