CANFIELD
Oct. 31
Theft: Police are investigating the theft of a Motorola cell phone from an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 400 block of Bradford Boulevard.
Nov. 1
Theft: A cashier at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., was short-changed by $249.88 by two men who were talking loudly and joking with other customers. One man disputed with the cashier if he had given her a $20 or a $50 or a $100 bill. The end result was the cashier's drawer was short $249.88.
Nov. 2
Hit-Skip: Police arrested a 53-year-old Canfield man after an incident at North Broad Street and Village Boulevard, where a woman reported she had been struck from behind by a burgundy Buick that had left the scene. A check of the license on the vehicle given by the victim showed the man lived on Sleepy Hollow Drive in the city and was currently driving under suspension for failure to pay child support. Police arrested the man on charges of failure to leave assured clear distance, driving under suspension, leaving the scene without exchange of information and driving an unsafe vehicle.
Carrying a Concealed Weapon: Police arrested a 16-year-old male suspect from Salem on West Main Street on charges of carrying concealed weapons, including a white and silver knife with a 14-inch blade hidden in his vehicle and two other smaller, common pocket knives. Two other passengers in his car and the driver were charged with violating Canfield's curfew.

Theft: A white colored antique-style mailbox made of metal was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Topaz Circle. The owner said he had just returned home from a business trip and noticed his mailbox removed from his property.
Nov. 5
Fraudulent check: A Callahan Road resident went to the police department to report she had received a counterfeit check. She has her car for sale in Auto Trader, and earlier in the week received a call on the car and set up a sale with a man and a woman from out of state. She received a cashier's check for an amount larger than that agreed upon, and took it to a local bank which verified where the originating check had come from, saying it was counterfeit.

Oct. 31
Burglary: Household items were taken from an apartment in the 4000 block of Pembrook Place.
Criminal Damaging: A window was damaged at an apartment in the 1500 block of Fountain Square.
Theft: A wallet was stolen from Polaris, 500 Victoria Road.
Public Indecency: A male was reported to have been seen in a lot without clothing on at Starbucks, 851 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: Two men were arrested for theft of a bottle of liqueur at Raccoon Road Beer and Wine, 3120 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: CDs were taken from an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 40 block of Patterson Court.
Theft: A lock tumbler was removed from a vehicle at a home in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A male suspect was issued two summonses and arrested on theft charges and for possession of criminal tools at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Avenue. He stole two packages of steaks.
Theft: A checkbook was taken from a residence in the 3000 block of Monaca Avenue.
Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a victim's credit card account at a home in the 4000 block of Shadow Oak Drive.
Theft: Two men failed to pay for meals at Denny's Restaurant, 4927 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A man was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A total of $91 was stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.
Breaking and entering: An unoccupied residence was entered by the north door being kicked in on the 3000 block of Burkey Road.
Fraud: A debit card was reported being used without consent of it's owner.
Criminal damage: Tires were damaged on a vehicle at the Change About Salon, 1742 S. Raccoon Road.
Nov. 2
Fraud: Unauthorized purchases were made over the Internet at a home in the 600 block of Duke Circle.
Theft: A summons was issued for the arrest of a man for theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Avenue.
Criminal damaging: A mailbox was reported damaged at a home in the 500 block of Impala Drive.
Burglary: Entry was gained through a kitchen window at a home in the 600 block of Harvard Place.
Nov. 3
Theft: A purse was taken from a cart by a white female driving a white Ford Windstar at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Avenue.
Unauthorized use of motor vehicle: A female is accused of using a vehicle without authorization. The vehicle was returned at a home in the 4000 block of Fitzgerald Avenue.
Breaking and Entering: A garage was broken into and a Polaris all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a home in the 60 block of Westminster Avenue.
Theft: A wallet was stolen from a vehicle at home in the 600 block of Oberlin Place.
Lost or stolen purse: A woman's purse with a credit card in it was reported lost or stolen from the 4000 block of Westchester Apartments.
Unauthorized use of motor vehicle: A 1997 Chevrolet was used without permission in the 800 block of N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Nov. 4
Lost or stolen plates: Dealer plates were stolen from a vehicle at an apartment in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.
Theft from auto: A purse was taken by a white male in a four-door white vehicle from another vehicle at Green Haven Memorial Cemetery, 3495 Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft from auto: A rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.
Drug Offense: A forged prescription was caught and denied at Walgreen's, 5501 Mahoning Avenue. No arrests were made, but the male suspect from Mineral Ridge who attempted to pass the prescription is under investigation.
Criminal damage: A female resident is suspected of pouring bleach on several items, including a laptop, blue jeans, sunglasses and a jacket in the 1000 block of Fountain Square apartments.
Nov. 5
Attempted Burglary: Damage was done to the door and door knobs during an attempted burglary at an apartment in the 400 block of S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: A cell phone and cash from a boy's locker room were reported stolen at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.
Theft: A wallet, CD and a CD player were stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.
Theft: Fuel was stolen from Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Nov. 6
Drug Offense: An Austintown man was arrested on charges of possession of narcotic equipment and cocaine and jailed in county jail after being arrested in the 20 block of Westminster Avenue.
Aggravated robbery: Four men armed with handguns took an unknown amount of cash at Fuel Mart, 5301 Seventy-Six Drive.
Theft: Cough drops were stolen from Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Avenue.
Drug offense: Two Austintown men and an Austintown female were arrested on warrants, and a consent search of the residence in the 300 block of Ayrshire Drive yielded crack and drug paraphernalia. One man was arrested on a charge of failure to appear on a traffic charge; the second male was arrested and charged for failure to appear on a possession and drug use charge; and the female was arrested for failure to appear on a charge of parole violation.
