Simon, Wallace earn first-team Ohio honors



COLUMBUS -- Twelve area soccer standouts received recognition on the All-Ohio teams, released Friday by the state's soccer coaches association.
Two players were named first team -- Marisa Simon of Mooney High, in girls Division II, and John Wallace of West Branch, in boys Div. II.
Fitch had two girls named in Div. I. Jodi Bowlen was named second team and Brittany Getz was selected to the third team.
Mooney's boys team, which lost 3-1 to Jamestown Greeneview in Friday's Div. III state championship game, was represented by Andrew Loudon on the third team.
He was joined by Ursuline's Ryan Novotny, who was selected to the second team, and Blaine Peterson of LaBrae and Josh Shreves of Badger, who were also third-team choices.
T.J. Hosa of Boardman was selected to the boys Div. I third team, and Adam Jones of Canfield was a second-team choice in boys Div. II.
Mariah Snyder of Ursuline was selected to the second team in girls Div. II.
