Police investigate assault, kidnapping



ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- Ellwood City police are investigating the assault and kidnapping of a woman on First Street. According to police, the woman was walking near the Hungarian Home at 1 p.m. Thursday when two women in a red four-door car with a dent in the hood tried to take her purse. Police said the women then started hitting the victim, and she lost consciousness. The victim woke up on Jockey Moore Road in Wayne Township and walked home, police said. She was later treated at the Ellwood City Hospital for a black eye, cut lips and pain to her right side.
The driver of the car was described as a white woman, approximately 30 years old with blond hair and wearing a gray sweat shirt.
The passenger, also white, had long, dark hair and was muscular. Police said she had a barbed wire tattoo on her right arm and was wearing a gray sweat shirt and a muscle shirt. Anyone with information on the women should call the police at (724) 758-7564.
