Learning to care for kids
Mahoning Chapter American Red Cross is sponsoring a babysitter training program from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Park. The cost is $30.
American Red Cross developed the finest training program for young adults in the United States. This program provides students with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parent or adult guardians.
Through this program students will develop skills such as leadership and professionalism, basic care, safety and safe play, and first aid. Plus students will receive all of the necessary items to help them enter the work-force through babysitting.
Students between the ages of 11 and 15 are encouraged to enroll in this training program. The best part is, students will be a certified babysitter with a certificate to show the parents of those they will be babysitting. In fact, students will probably earn enough money in their first 10 hours after they have been certified to pay for the course.
