Mount Union 63, Heidelberg 0
TIFFIN -- Mike Jorris threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns to lead Mount Union to a 63-0 win over Heidelberg, clinching the Purple Raiders' 14th straight Ohio Conference title. The Purple Raiders (9-1, 8-1) needed a loss by John Carroll to avoid having to share the championship for the first time since 1994, the last year that Mount Union lost a conference game before this season. John Carroll was beaten 17-14 on Saturday by Baldwin-Wallace. Mount Union rolled up 661 yards of offense, forced four turnovers and held the 'Berg (0-10, 0-9) to 170 yards of offense. Nine Mount Union players carried the ball and three threw passes. Scott Casto caught seven passes for 112 yards, including touchdowns of 52 and 6 yards, and returned a punt 87 yards for a score. Pierre Garcon caught two touchdown passes and Nate Kmic ran for two scores. Justin Wray rushed for 103 yards on seven carries. Lucas Bauer led Heidelberg with seven catches for 94 yards.
Thiel 50, Carnegie-Mellon 48
PITTSBURGH -- Darrell Satterfield threw six touchdown passes, including four to Brandon Chamber, as Thiel completed its first unbeaten regular season since 1950 with a triple overtime victory. Satterfield completed 29 of 52 passes for 306 yards, including 15 passes to Chamber, covering 177 yards. The two connected on touchdown passes of 9, 11, 18, and 21, the last two coming in overtime. Chamber and Satterfield also connected on the two-point conversion that gave Thiel the deciding points. Thiel (10-0) entered the game ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division III. Carnegie Mellon (5-5) jumped out to a 28-14 lead with a pair of touchdown runs by Travis Sivek and a pair of scoring passes by Jarred Highberger. Thiel tied the game at 28-28 with a 1-yard touchdown run by Dan Hess and a 7-yard pass from Satterfield to Mark LaScola. Kevin Mulkern threw a pair of touchdown passes for Carnegie Mellon in overtime, but his two-point conversion pass failed. Mulkern came into the game when Highberger sustained an injury.
Allegheny 31, Wittenberg 21
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Jimmy Savage threw three touchdown passes for Allegheny. Savage, who completed 15 of 27 passes for 204 yards, gave Allegheny (3-7, 3-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference) its first points with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Marko Fonzi with 24 seconds left in the first quarter. The touchdown capped a 14-play, 77-yard drive. Allegheny scored again on its next possession with a different quarterback, as James Jones connected on a 4-yard touchdown pass with Michael Sober. Wittenberg (5-5, 5-2) evened the game at 14-14 with a 13-yard touchdown run by Tristan Murray and an 8-yard scoring pass to Jared Glover. Savage threw two more touchdown passes in the second half -- 27 yards to Mario Tarquinio and 7 yards to Logan Kaleta. Murray rushed for 105 yards on 23 carries for Wittenberg and scored a second touchdown on a 3-yard run.
Waynesburg 40, Westminster 13
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Waynesburg's offense posted 539 yards total offense to beat Westminster. Waynesburg (4-6, 2-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference) was led on the ground by Eric Daniels, who rushed for 154 yards on 11 carries, and Ryan Abels who gained 140 yards on 23 carries. Daniels scored three touchdowns and Abels one as the Yellow Jackets amassed 298 rushing yards. In contrast, Westminster (4-6, 2-4) managed only 49 yards on the ground and 267 total yards. Waynesburg opened scoring about five minutes into the game when Dominick Hunter caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Tres Cobb. About two minutes later, Daniels ran in from 15 yards out to give the Yellow Jackets a 13-0 lead. The Titans cut the lead to 13-7 on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Brett Myers to Brett Ziegler. The ended the third quarter trailing only by 10 points. But Waynesburg scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to put the game away. First, Abels ran in from 5 yards 6 seconds into the period, then Daniels had a 50-yard touchdown run. And with 6:56 remaining, Ben Popson kicked his second field goal of the day, this one from 35 yards out.
St. Francis, Ind. 21, Walsh 7
CANTON -- Chris Bramell threw for a touchdown and ran for another to help St. Francis (Ind.). St. Francis (10-0, 7-0 Mid-States Football Association Mideast League) tied the score at 7 in the first quarter on Bramell's 1-yard TD run. His 3-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Wood in the second quarter gave St. Francis the lead. The Cougars' Paul Carter also had a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth. Dustin Stewart rushed for 80 yards on 12 carries for Walsh (8-3, 5-2), whose only score came on a 3-yard TD run by Antwain Reine in the first quarter.
Geneva 21, Urbana 20
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Justin Sciarro threw for 270 yards and one touchdown for Geneva. Sciarro completed 12 of 29 passes, including a 77-yard bomb to Bam Harmon with 9:10 left in the fourth quarter, which tied the game at 20-20. The extra point by Zach Blair gave Geneva the win. Geneva (8-3, 5-2 MSFA Mideast League) jumped out to a 12-0 lead with a 36-yard field goal by Blair, a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Cobb, and a safety.
Quincy 48, Malone 9
QUINCY, Ill. -- Matt Wehrle rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown and Todd Lockhart ran for two scores to lead Quincy. John Regas had eight receptions for 121 yards for the Pioneers (3-7, 2-5), who committed six turnovers. Brad Reifsnyder threw three interceptions, lost a fumble and was sacked seven times.
Oberlin 52, Hiram 17
OBERLIN -- Greg Mangan only needed five completions to throw three touchdown passes, and R.V. Carroll had two scoring runs for Oberlin.
