XSTRUTHERS -- Nuptial vows were exchanged Oct. 8 at Struthers Presbyterian Church as Sara McCaughtry and Gerard LaVecchia Jr. were united in marriage during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Steven Breazier.
A reception was held afterward at The Embassy in Youngstown to honor the daughter of Dale and Mary Ann McCaughtry of Lowellville and the son of Laura Lee McCarthy of Ashtabula and the late William McCarthy, and Gerard and Empy LaVecchia, Avendale, Ariz.
The bride's diamond-white satin gown was enhanced with champagne embroidery and ruched organza detailing on the bodice and skirt, a corset back and chapel train.
Periwinkle gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Shannon McCaughtry, and the bridesmaids, Tracie McCaughtry, Kim George, Laura Cole, Sarah Taylor and Angelica LaVecchia. Flower girls were Rylee Cole and Madison McCaughtry.
The duties of best man were performed by Andy Taylor, and groomsmen were Shawn McCaughtry, Al George, Jason Cole, Jack Lemmon and Dale McCaughtry Jr. Ring bearers were Logan George and Josh Cole, and guests were ushered by Tyler George.
The couple live in Charleston, S.C., where the bride is an account executive with Adecco Employment Services and the groom is a regional operations manager with Source Media.
