REV. GARY L. FROST Background
The Rev. Gary L. Frost was one of six keynote speakers at the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, which is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Position: Executive director of the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association since February 2004.Past positions: Served as vice president of the North American Mission Board and began that assignment in early 2001. He led efforts relating to the Strategic Focus Cities Initiative and relationships with directors of missions. During his 18-year pastorate at Rising Star Baptist Church, Youngstown, the Rev. Mr. Frost served two terms as president of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, two terms as second vice president of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, two terms as second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention and eight years as a member of the SBC Executive Committee.Education: Mr. Frost is a graduate of Mount Union College, Central Bible College and Ashland Theological Seminary, where he received a master's in pastoral psychology.Personal: He and his wife, Lynette, have six children. They also have served as foster parents for 48 children in the last 20 years.
