NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Two Ohio men were injured in what police are calling a drug-related shooting on Glen Avenue.
Police Chief Tom Sansone said Timothy Hicks, 32, of Struthers was in stable condition Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. He had been shot about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the abdomen and his back near his left shoulder blade.
Sansone said Ryan Trimacco of Youngstown, whose age was not available, suffered a head wound that may have been caused by flying glass or a bullet that grazed his head. He was treated at Jameson Hospital.
According to Sansone, the two men told police that they went to the Glen Avenue home to make rap music, but that when they arrived they were told the person they wanted was not home. Sansone said there was music equipment on the second floor of the house.
Received call
Police said they initially received a call stating that there were shots fired on Lee Avenue and were searching the shooters when they heard shouting from 1014 Glen Avenue that a gunshot victim was inside. They went in and found Hicks and Trimacco. Further details on the shooting weren't available Thursday.
A third man in the house, Floyd Isaac Ellis Jr., 27, who has addresses in Liberty and Boardman townships in Ohio, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant from Cambria County on a probation violation.
