PSU Shenango alumni offer first holiday sale of ice cream
SHARON, Pa. -- The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society is having its first holiday Penn State Ice Cream sale to raise funds for student scholarships and campus projects.
The alumni group has held a spring ice cream sale for years and will continue to do so, but this is the first time it's tried a fall sale.
The ice cream, made at The Creamery at the Penn State campus in State College, Pa., is sold in half-gallon quantities and the list offers 10 flavors -- eggnog, peppermint stick, coffee mocha fudge, peanut butter swirl, vanilla, regular chocolate, strawberry yogurt, Peachy Paterno, butter pecan and cookies 'n' cream.
Grilled stickies from Ye Old College Diner in State College also will be available.
The ice cream is $5.75 per half gallon or $5.25 each for three or more. The stickies are $3.50 per package.
Nov. 18 is the order deadline. Order forms are available by calling the campus alumni office at (724) 983-2907.
The ice cream must be picked up Dec. 10 at Sharon High School or Augustine's Pizza Tavern in New Castle.
Buyers designate their pickup point on their order form.
