Experience Factor: Mooney started six players (Kevin Miller, Dom DiPasquale, Alecko Frangopoulos, Kyle Buxman, Sean Sullivan and Zack Hernan) who started the 2004 state title match and had seven other players who were in uniform that game. Kidron Central Christian had never been this deep in the tournament in school history. Mooney had a senior goalie (Andrew Loudon) while a freshman started for the Comets. Loudon had two saves while Joshua Sluts saved 13 balls. Also Mooney has been in the regional tournament or better the last five seasons. The experience showed.
Family back together: Mooney coach Lenny Krispinsky recently got good news: His son Ryan, 24, came back from a tour of duty in Iraq. A marine, Ryan was stationed in Faluja. "He was there since February," said another of Lenny's sons, Chad, who was covering the game for WKBN-TV. "He just got home three weeks ago. He's heading back to North Carolina. He'll know in January if he's heading back over there for a second tour," Chad said.
