Beavers land 11 berths
Six of the Beaver Local High football players were selected to the first team.

COLUMBUS -- Beaver Local was represented by 11 players, including six on first team, on the Associated Press East All-District high school football team.
The Beavers (8-3) were represented on the Division III first team by offensive lineman Kyle Brown, running back Jim Bowersock, kicker Jarrod Satmare, defensive linemen Fred Lucas and Kyle Reeder, and defensive back Bob Flynt.
East Liverpool had five players selected to the first team in Div. II -- receiver John Simballa, offensive lineman Marcus Collins, quarterback Joe Wines, linebacker Loyd Hendershot and defensive back Travis Weyand.
In Div. V, Wellsville was represented by running back Jamaar Pullie, defensive lineman Jim Malone, linebacker Matt Dalrymple and defensive back Nick Prendes.
Lineman Angelo Magnone and coach Reno Saccoccia of poll champion Steubenville were among the top honorees .
Magnone, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound senior, was tabbed as the defensive player of the year in Div. III and Saccoccia was selected as the top coach in the division in balloting by a panel of sports writers and broadcasters from the district.
The offensive award winners in Div. II were Dover quarterback Perci Garner and Cambridge running back Stephen Ford.
The rest of the offensive players of the year included: Richard Sandilands of New Philadelphia (Div. II); Bellaire's Nate Davis (IV); Barnesville's Bud Hines (V); and Zach Hawrot of Steubenville Catholic Central (VI).
Others honored
Rounding out the list of defensive honorees were: Jimmy Laner of New Philadelphia (II); Bellaire's Ty Hess (IV); Jarrod Grove of West Lafayette Ridgewood (V); and Shadyside's Justin Tollet (VI).
The coaches of the year also included: Matt Dennison of New Philadelphia (II); Zanesville West Muskingum's Len Hartman, Bellaire's John Magistro and Dale Martini of Zoarville Tuscarawas Valley (IV); Barnesville's Luke Johnson and John Slusser of West Lafayettte Ridgewood (V); and Gregg Bahen of Steubenville Catholic Central, Mike Flannery of Hannibal River and Caldwell's Chad Coffman (VI).
Hartman is a graduate of LaBrae High.
There are no Division I teams in the district.
