Fire damage estimate

Fire damage estimate
YOUNGSTOWN -- Fire damage to a Diamond Sparkler storage shed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is estimated at $25,000 to $30,000, said William Weimer, spokesman for BJ Alan Fireworks. Weimer said it appears the fire started Sunday afternoon when wind hit an outside light and caused a spark.
The fire spread to the Diamond Sparkler building behind BJ Alan, he said. The sprinkler system activated and fire response "couldn't have been better," he said. The shed contained raw materials used to make sparklers, Weimer said. Fire reports show that the shed roof collapsed and at least two containers of raw material ignited in a fountain effect shooting 40 to 50 feet in the air.
