BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Miami took a huge bite out of Virginia Tech's national title hopes.
The fifth-ranked Hurricanes put the clamps on Marcus Vick, forcing him into six turnovers, and blew the Hokies right out of the national title picture with a stunning 27-7 victory Saturday night.

LOS ANGELES -- USC scored on each of its seven first-half possessions to take an insurmountable lead. Matt Leinart passed for 259 yards and four touchdowns, Reggie Bush rushed for 113 yards and another score, and the Trojans (9-0, 6-0) had no trouble extending their conference-record winning streak to 31 games.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Backup cornerback Reggie Lewis, beaten all game by Vanderbilt's bigger receivers, intercepted Jay Cutler's first pass in the second overtime to give Florida the victory over the pesky Commodores.
Jemalle Cornelius made a leaping, 16-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end zone that put the Gators ahead in the second overtime.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- JaMarcus Russell passed for 208 yards and two touchdowns and LSU beat Appalachian State in a non-conference game.
The Tigers (7-1) extended their winning streak to six heading into their SEC West showdown at No. 4 Alabama Saturday.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Freshman Willie Tuitama threw for two early touchdowns and Arizona, coached by Cardinal Mooney High graduate Mike Stoops, rolled for 519 yards in a rout of the previously-unbeaten and seventh-ranked Bruins.
Arizona rushed for 320 yards, and Mike Bell had 153 yards.

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Taurean Henderson ran for 109 yards and four touchdowns and Texas Tech beat Texas A & amp;M for its sixth straight home win over the Aggies.

LOGAN, Utah -- Matt Kubik (Cardinal Mooney) ran for one touchdown and threw for another as Louisiana Tech beat Utah State.
Patrick Jackson rushed for 71 yards and made a touchdown for the Bulldogs (5-3, 4-1 Western Athletic Conference).

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Eric Sanders threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Justin Surrency in the second overtime. Sanders threw for 235 yards and ran in a 1-yard score in the first overtime to lead No. 14 Northern Iowa (6-3, 4-2 Gateway).
Slippery Rock 28, Clarion 10
CLARION, Pa. -- Josh Kneiss rushed for 273 yards and three touchdowns to lead Slippery Rock.
Kneiss sparked Slippery Rock (5-5, 4-2 PSAC West) with a 49-yard touchdown run that put the Rockets up 14-10 at halftime. He added a 4-yard scoring run in the third quarter and capped the night with a 44-yard dash with 2:04 to go.
