VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- "Getting Relief from Seasonal Affective Disorder," part of a health series, will be presented from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday by EverGreen and Villa Maria Life Services at Villa Maria Community Center. Dr. Ted Suzelis, who has offices in Newton Falls and Canfield, will discuss the disorder. He graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Registration is not required. Calendar art displayed
WARREN -- The 13 winning entries in the Fairhaven Calendar Art Contest will be on display at the Trumbull Art Gallery from Tuesday through Friday.
Judges Jim Cvetkovich of WKBN-TV and A.C. McCullough from WHOT-FM selected the artwork of Thomas Arbuckle, Gabriella Clementi, Tim Collins, Benjamin Sean Galela, Kayla Grice, John Hall, Vanessa Johnson, Marshall Lyons, Andrew Miller, Julian Navarro, Pauline Richason, Mary Shiamone and Melissa Smith from among 275 entries received. Entrants ranged from preschoolers to seniors who are involved in Fairhaven programs.
The 2006 calendars featuring the winning artwork are available from Fairhaven for $10 and may be ordered by calling (330) 652-9800. Trumbull Art Gallery is on East Market Street one block east of Courthouse Square; hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Lions Club celebration
McDONALD -- McDonald Lions Club will celebrate its 13th annual "Christmas in the Valley" from 5:45 to 10 p.m. Nov. 26. The celebration will begin with a parade along Ohio Avenue. The festivities include holiday music and caroling by area musical groups, holiday crafters, tree lighting and horse-drawn rides. A Chinese auction will be at Ramsay Pavilion with prizes donated by local businesses, organizations and individuals. Proceeds will be given to individuals and families who need help.
Library seeks insight
LEETONIA -- Leetonia Public Library will have a series of meetings to determine the features people want to see at its new facility.
The first sessions will be at 10 a.m. Thursday for parents of preschool children and at 11 a.m. for senior citizens. The sessions will be at the library. The library also plans to have meetings in the village schools. Interested persons may call (330) 427-6635. The library has purchased the site of the former high school.
