The Spagnolas mark anniversary by renewing vows



XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. John Spagnola of Poland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their nuptial vows during a Mass Oct. 23 at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
The couple were honored later that day during a dinner held for relatives at Youngstown Crab Co.
Hosts for the event were their family, Cynthia McKee and Patricia Craft, both of Youngstown; Joanne and Ron Fisher of Struthers, and Diane Spagnola of Canfield. Also participating were their seven grandchildren and twin great-grandsons.
The former Phyllis Lewis and Mr. Spagnola were united in marriage Oct. 22, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church. They are members of St. Dominic Church, where he is an usher.
Mr. Spagnola retired from Sears Roebuck and Co., where he was an associate manager. He served four years aboard the USS Hornet with the U.S. Navy. He is a member of VFW Post 3538, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Golf League 7538, Baseball Hall of Fame of Youngstown and Lowellville Rod and Gun Club. He is also a second degree Knight of Columbus 13856. His wife is a homemaker.
