Reception marks 60th anniversary for the Herrens

XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. James R. Herren, 398 Fairground Blvd., were honored by their family during a reception held Oct. 29 at Springfield Grille in Boardman in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were Larry and Janice Wheeler of Williamsburg, Va., and Ken and Linda Hartzell of Austintown. The couple have five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Herren and the former Lillian B. Haught were married Oct. 25, 1945, at Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ in Alliance. They are members of Boardman United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Herren, a homemaker, worked at Mount Union College Bookstore, City Savings Bank and Plajer and Cross Photography, all in Alliance.
Mr. Herren was a dairy and beef cattle farmer in Beloit until 1976 and retired in December 1985 from Ohio Bureau of Employment Services in Youngstown.
