Eckis 60th celebrated at family dinner

XBERLIN CENTER -- Mr. and Mrs. George Eckis of 6163 Pricetown Road were honored Oct. 8 at a family dinner at the Olive Garden in Boardman on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's daughters, Sandra Schooley of Austintown, Georgia Cochran of Canfield and Bridgitte Bowling of Milroy, Ind., and their families. Eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren complete their family.
The former Violet M. Kale and Mr. Eckis were married Oct. 4, 1945, in Durham, N.C. She is a homemaker.
Mr. Eckis served in the U.S. Army and retired from Automatic Sprinkler Corp.
The couple are members of the Silver Threads and the Historical Society of Berlin Center.
