Dinner party held for Smiths in Hanoverton



XCOLUMBIANA -- Mr. and Mrs. Elmon Smith, 42038 W. Duquesne St., were the guests of honor as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a family dinner party held Nov. 5 at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton.
Hosts for the event were their children and their spouses, Rodney and Kathy Smith of Westminster, Md.; Linda and Todd Crooks of Bedford; and Kevin and Kathy Smith of Cleveland. The couple have five grandchildren.
The former Margaret Hoffman and Mr. Smith were united in marriage on Nov. 5, 1955, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Springfield, where they are members.
Mr. Smith taught school in Leetonia and Steubenville, was employed by H & amp;M Oil Co. and Ever Ready Gas Co., and retired from Carney Gas Co. in West Point.
Mrs. Smith was a secretary-bookkeeper for Welsh Motors and Springfield Mutual Insurance Co. and is employed by the Thompson Bros. Mining Co. in New Springfield.
